This course has assisted me tremendously. It introduced me to new functions that I never knew existed in illustrator. Paired with the understanding of how to deal with clients (That was taught from random interactions within the class room). It also gave me an understand of how to design within a team setting and has prepared me for collaborations that may happen in the future.

Digital illustration is completely different. Being able to effectively use all the tools at your disposal in illustrator is hard. The pen tool can be especially difficult to use when it comes to outlining fine detail.

Adobe illustrator is a specialized tool. Each application has their own advantages and disadvantages. For adobe illustrator it shines because it is vector based. In a time where a graphic designer is creating logos without knowing in the end what medium it might eventually reach on it it nice to have the freedom to scale without any loss in quality or color.
